Delete Your Account & Data

This page explains how to permanently delete your Faith Source Bible Reader account and all of the data associated with it.

Account Deletion

Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)

If you can sign in, you can delete your account and all associated data instantly from inside the Faith Source Bible Reader app:

  1. Open the app and sign in to your account.
  2. Tap the Account icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Scroll to the "Delete account" section.
  4. Tap Delete account, enter your password to confirm, then tap Confirm delete.

Your account and all associated data are removed immediately and permanently. This action cannot be undone.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you are unable to sign in, you can request deletion by email. Send a message from the email address registered to your account to:

Use the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the name and email on the account. We will verify your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days, and confirm once it is done.

What Is Deleted & What Is Kept

Data that is permanently deleted

When your account is deleted, the following is erased from our live systems immediately:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and the hashed copy of your password.
  • Study notes — every note you saved to your account.
  • Verse highlights — all of your saved highlights.
  • Preferences — your commentary complexity, language, citation, and analysis-length settings.

Data that is kept (anonymized)

If you submitted any reports about AI-generated content, the text of those reports is retained for safety and quality moderation, but it is permanently disassociated from your identity — your account link is removed so the report can no longer be traced back to you. No personal information is kept.

Retention period

Your data is removed from our active database the moment your account is deleted. Residual copies may remain in our encrypted, access-controlled backups for up to 30 days, after which they are permanently overwritten and unrecoverable.

If you used the app as a guest (without an account), your highlights and notes are stored only on your own device and are never uploaded. You can remove them at any time by clearing your browser or app storage.
